I feel flat, or nothing helps
Depression
In crisis? Call or text 988 (press 2 for Spanish), or text HOME to 741741. If you’re in immediate danger, call 911.
Depression isn’t just sadness. It can feel like numbness, emptiness, exhaustion, or going through the motions.
Some people keep working, parenting and smiling while feeling almost nothing inside.
It can follow a loss, long stress, hormone changes, or nothing you can point to at all.
Depression is treatable. Therapy helps many people. Medication helps some. Often the two work best together.

I treat this. If your low periods alternate with stretches of very high energy and little need for sleep, that may be bipolar disorder. I don’t treat bipolar disorder directly. If your symptoms are stable and a specialist is treating you, I can see you, your partner or your family for couples or family therapy. If symptoms are active right now, you’ll usually need a higher level of care first, and I’ll help you find it. See Bipolar Disorder.
How therapy works with me
We look at what’s feeding the depression: stress, loss, relationships, family patterns, your body, and the way you talk to yourself.
I pay close attention to your language. “What’s the point.” “I should be grateful.” “I’m just tired.” Those words often show how heavy things really are.
If medication might help, I’ll coordinate with your doctor. Sessions are by video, in English or Spanish.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if it’s depression or just a bad stretch?
If low mood or loss of interest lasts most days for two weeks or more and gets in the way of your life, it’s worth getting checked.
Do I need medication?
Not always. Many people improve with therapy alone. Some do better with both. Your doctor or a psychiatrist can help you decide.
Can my partner come too?
Yes. Depression affects relationships, and couples sessions can help both of you. Coverage depends on your plan.
Do you offer therapy in Spanish?
Yes. Sessions can be in Spanish, English, or both.
Start with how you feel today
You don’t have to explain why.
You can start with one sentence:
“I don’t feel much of anything anymore.”
